Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Ames (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Gibson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nathan Ames! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Gibson! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Alyssa Summers and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ames keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gibson. Ames on the wrong end of a nice jab. Ames moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Ames misses with a low kick. Ames on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Gibson throws a leg kick and Ames counters with a left to the body. Ames throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Gibson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ames moves away. Ames tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ames displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gibson.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ames tries a head kick but it misses.
Gibson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ames was well out of range. Poor timing from Gibson. Gibson shoots in looking for a takedown. Ames tries to sprawl out of it but Gibson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ames manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ames chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Gibson throws a push kick but Ames slaps the foot to one side.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gibson throws a leg kick that is checked and Ames counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Gibson fails with a takedown attempt. Nathan Ames has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Gibson. Gibson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Ames throws a leg kick but Gibson checks it. Gibson misses the jab. Ames misses with an uppercut. Gibson saw that one coming. Ames checks a low kick from Gibson. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Gibson, right into the meat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gibson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Ames scores with a body shot.

and Ames counters with a good low kick that Gibson was not able to check. Gibson looks gassed! Gibson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
It looks like Robert Gibson has been cut. Gibson throws a sloppy head kick and Ames moves out of range easily. A head kick by Ames misses and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Ames tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Ames misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gibson swings for the body but Ames moves out of range.
A shot to the body from Gibson misses and Ames counters with a left to the body. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gibson waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Ames. Robert Gibson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ames lands a nice shot that snaps Gibson's head back.

Ames with a body punch. A glancing blow. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ames tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gibson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Gibson swings and misses with a shot to the body and Ames counters with a right hand to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gibson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Ames uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gibson.
Ames displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gibson. Ames cracks Gibson with a good jab. Ames throws a nice outside leg kick. Gibson misses the body punch and Ames counters with a nice leg kick. Gibson is breathing heavily. Ames feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gibson's calf.

Ames throws a nice inside leg kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ames lands with a slapping head kick. Gibson looks to throw a body kick and Ames connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Gibson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ames manages to avoid it. Ames connects with a high kick. Gibson misses with a left hand and Ames makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Ames counters with a low kick, right behind Gibson 's knee. Ames throws a nice inside leg kick. Jab by Ames. Ames throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Gibson is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Ames rather than just go for the knockout. Some wild striking there from Gibson.
Ames ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ames throws a nice looking combination but Gibson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Nathan Ames is winning the standup battle so far. Nice uppercut there from Ames. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ames misses with a low kick. Ames is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Ames scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Ames is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Ames misses with a wild body shot. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Ames leaves Gibson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Gibson fails to land the takedown. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gibson throws a right and a left that Ames avoids nicely. Gibson shoots in for a takedown but Ames shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Gibson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ames. Gibson misses the shot to the body. A punch lands to the side of Ames 's head but he takes it in his stride. Ames scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Gibson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ames tries to clinch but Gibson is having none of it. Ames cracks Gibson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Ames blocks a jab. Gibson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Ames drives through and clinches with Gibson against the cage.
Ames digs a right hand underneath Gibson's ribcage. Gibson let out a lung full of air as it connected. Ames lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Ames working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. This has been an exciting period of action! Ames landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Ames works on Gibson's body with a couple of short punches. Ames is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Ames is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gibson can do to turn this around? Nice elbow from Ames.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ames working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Ames lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Ames leaning his opponent against the cage. Ames lands a damaging elbow. Gibson trying to stall but Ames improves his position.
Ames tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Ames lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Gibson backwards. Ames tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Gibson avoids it. Ames struggles to land a body shot inside as Gibson controls his hands.
Ames crunches a lovely knee into Gibson's ribcage. Ames gets through Gibson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Gibson is rocked!
That has opened up Robert Gibson's cut even more. Ames lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Gibson. Gibson is still on wobbly legs! Can Ames finish him? A hook to the body from Ames.
Gibson is trying desperately to land a takedown but Ames is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Gibson. Knees in the clinch landing for Ames.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
