Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hunter Rose! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bill Dance! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dance tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rose swivels and escapes. Dance slips under a jab. Dance takes one on the button. Rose throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Horrible takedown by Dance or perhaps it was just good defense by Rose which made him look bad. A jab from Rose does it's job there. Rose paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Rose scores with a shot to the body.

and Dance counters with a takedown into side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dance with the ground and pound but Rose regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Rose gets full guard. Rose is trying to control the position but Dance postures up. Rose is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dance is looking for a sweep. Rose is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dance is not content to let Rose control the position. Still in half guard, Rose seems content to control. Rose missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Dance kicks off Rose and gets to his feet. Dance shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rose is trying to defend but Dance finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Dance is keen to just control but Rose is a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rose tries to roll over but Dance keeps him under control. Dance takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Rose blocking the ground and pound attempt from Dance. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dance sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Rose defending well though. Dance not landing any meaningful shots this time. Dance seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dance wants to pass the guard but Rose is defending well. Dance frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Rose avoids a series of strikes thrown by Dance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dance in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Dance sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Dance dominating with strikes here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rose holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Dance tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Dance raining down shots from the mount! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rose taking shots to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dance landing strikes from the mount. Dance working the ground and pound effectively.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Dance landing shots from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rose swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Dance. Dance misses with a body shot.
Rose has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Rose there as he acknowledges the shot. Rose is looking to slow Dance down with leg kicks. Rose misses with an uppercut. Dance shoots in but Rose avoids the takedown attempt easily. Dance shoots in and drives through. Rose sprawls well. Rose lands a body shot.

Nice sprawl there from Rose as Dance shoots in. Hunter Rose has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bill Dance. Dance just misses with a punch to the body.

Dance is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dance feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Rose seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Dance has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Rose utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Dance missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Dance passes into half guard. Rose is trying to control but can't.

Dance wants to free his trapped foot but Rose is holding on for dear life with his legs. Dance thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rose's head. Dance trying to control from half guard but Rose is working away. Rose has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dance is working away from the top position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dance performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Dance wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rose keeps working. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Dance thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Rose misses with a shot to the body enabling Dance to counter with a crisp jab. Dance shoots in looking for a takedown. Rose tries to sprawl out of it but Dance keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rose manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Dance fails to land the takedown. Hunter Rose is winning the standup battle so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rose uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Dance lands with a good body shot. Rose takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Rose misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dance shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rose but Rose pushes him off and we're back to square one. Dance just misses with a punch to the body.
Dance wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rose swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Bill Dance showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Rose scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Dance doesn't seem bothered though. Dance takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Dance shoots in for a takedown but Rose shows good takedown defense. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dance. Dance drives through with a takedown into guard. Rose is adopting a defensive guard. Dance working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dance's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Dance pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rose is keeping the position for now.

Dance gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Dance chips away with some ground and pound. Dance trying to control the position from guard on top but Rose is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dance forces his way into half guard. Dance thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Rose is rocked! Dance lands a heavy elbow. Oh Rose is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Dance lands with some strikes. Rose takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Dance's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
