Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lae Praye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryoto Sagat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Praye comes to the ring accompanied by Dragula. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lae Praye!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryoto Sagat!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Praye drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sagat tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Praye slips nicely into half guard.

Sagat looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Praye tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sagat knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Praye not doing much here.

Sagat is looking to control Praye's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sagat avoid being mounted?
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Praye in particular looking to stall.
Sagat is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Praye could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Sagat wants to get back to full guard but Praye has mounted him!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Praye controlling the position easily from mount.
Praye with a couple of short strikes.
Praye is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Praye lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Sagat is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sagat tries to reverse the position but Praye maintains control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lae Praye dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Sagat shoots and misses

and Praye counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Praye avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Praye stays in close to Sagat's body and controls the position.
Praye advances to half guard.
Sagat is breathing heavily.
Praye seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Praye content to control rather than advance.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Lae Praye just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Praye changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sagat looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Praye takes a little break here. Sagat wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Praye gets to mount! Sagat was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Sagat's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Praye with shots to the head and body - Sagat looks very uncomfortable down there.
Praye controlling the position easily from mount.
Sagat tries to lock up and control but Praye gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sagat working to try and regain half guard.
Praye really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...
Praye sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Sagat is bucking up trying to escape but Praye cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Sagat keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Lae Praye overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Praye drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Lae Praye just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Praye.
Sagat can't do much from the bottom here.
Praye just content to control the position.
Sagat takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Praye lands some shots froms side control.

Sagat tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Sagat is being controlled here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sagat is looking for a sweep.
The referee asks Praye politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Praye prefers to stall for the moment though.
Praye has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Lae Praye just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Praye throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sagat has his takedown stuffed

and Praye decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sagat's guard.

Sagat is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Praye is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lae Praye showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Praye has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
