PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Sizemore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodney Dupre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodney Dupre will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Sizemore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rodney Dupre!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dupre throws a lazy head kick

and Sizemore counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Dupre is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Dupre working for submissions but it's allowed Sizemore to get to half guard.
Sizemore perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Sizemore wants to free his trapped foot but Dupre is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Sizemore knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dupre on the ground.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Frank Sizemore just wasn't active enough.

Sizemore feints and as Dupre raises his hands in defense, Sizemore changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Dupre gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sizemore to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sizemore wants to pass the guard but Dupre is keeping the position.

Sizemore wants to pass the guard but Dupre is keeping the position.
Sizemore loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Sizemore scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Dupre is working an open guard so Sizemore takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Sizemore closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Sizemore drives through and clinches with Dupre against the cage.
A short body shot lands from Sizemore as the two fighters clinch.

Sizemore breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Sizemore here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Sizemore dives in and scores a takedown into Dupre's guard.
Sizemore is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Well Sizemore has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
