And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andre Shankar!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Perry drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Perry moves into full mount!
Shankar throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Perry wants to control the pace but Shankar is squirming around nicely.
Shankar can't escape the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Perry fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shankar sprawls well initially but Perry persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Perry seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shankar does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Perry shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Shankar's guard.
Shankar wants to sweep here but Perry controlling him for the moment.

Shankar had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Perry is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Shankar Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Perry's back instead.

Perry is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Shankar pushing down on Perry's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Perry manages to get to full guard.
Perry knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shankar on the ground.
Perry wants to sweep but no luck.

Perry is trying to control the position but Shankar postures up.
Shankar thows a big elbow that misses.
Perry might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

That's time! Perry's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Shankar feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Shankar drops back looking for a leg! Perry is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Perry manages to kick Shankar off! Shankar jumps back into Perry's guard.

Shankar is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Perry knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Dwayne Perry overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Shankar wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Perry, who protects the arm well.

Perry has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Shankar is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Perry is tapping out! This one is all over!
