Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Hinkley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bjj Acton! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hinkley moves into the clinch successfully.
Acton drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hinkley gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Hinkley throws a punch but it's blocked by Acton. Acton has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hinkley avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Hinkley stalling.
A frustrated look appears on Hinkley's face as he tries to break the clinch. Hinkley can't find room to land a body shot as Acton controls the action.
Acton is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hinkley gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Adam Hinkley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bjj Acton. Hinkley doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
A frustrated look appears on Hinkley's face as he tries to break the clinch. Acton has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hinkley avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Acton is working for takedown but Hinkley is calmly controlling the position for now. Hinkley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Acton with a poor takedown and Hinkley counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Sloppy strikes from Hinkley. Those never looked like landing. The fight moves into the clinch position. Hinkley misses with a short punch on the inside. Hinkley stops a takedown attempt from Acton.
Hinkley has clasped his hands together around Acton's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Acton is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Hinkley's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Hinkley is trying to control. Acton wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hinkley wants to stand up but Acton has a hold of him and won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hinkley looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Acton moves into full guard.
Acton keeping moving, preventing Hinkley from controlling successfully. Acton pushes a forearm under Hinkley's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Hinkley is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
