Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Ground (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodor Sixtynine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sixtynine has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Rodor Sixtynine has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, David Ground!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rodor Sixtynine!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ground misses with a body kick.
Sixtynine looks gassed!
Ground throws a head kick but Sixtynine moves out of range.
Sixtynine tries to clinch but Ground is having none of it.
Ground fails with a takedown attempt.
Sixtynine defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ground.
Sixtynine displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Ground. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ground shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sixtynine defends it nicely.
Ground shoots in for a takedown but Sixtynine shows good takedown defense.

Sixtynine gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Sixtynine gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ground.

Ground manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Ground scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Sixtynine shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ground sprawls well. Ground wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sixtynine gets slowly back to his feet.

Ground throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sixtynine was covering up waiting for the punch and Ground finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Ground decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sixtynine, up you get!
Ground shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sixtynine as he avoids it easily.

Nice takedown defense from Sixtynine. No joy for Ground on that attempt.
Ground shoots in looking for a takedown. Sixtynine tries to sprawl out of it but Ground keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sixtynine manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sixtynine displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ground.
Sixtynine stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sixtynine wants it to stay on the feet.

Ground throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sixtynine tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ground is in Sixtynine's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ground trying to control but Sixtynine is working from the bottom.
Ground stands and throws Sixtynine's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Sixtynine avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Ground.
Ground wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sixtynine keeps working.
Ground controls the position.

Ground advances to mount.

Sixtynine is squirming around, avoiding Ground's attempts to control the action.
Sixtynine tries to buck Ground off but he can't manage it.
Ground controlling from mount.
The referee warns Sixtynine that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ground putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Ground dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Ground shoots in and drives through. Sixtynine sprawls well.
Ground misses with a takedown attempt - Sixtynine sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rodor Sixtynine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ground misses with a wild body shot.
Sixtynine takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Ground will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ground looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sixtynine is fending him off so far but Ground persists. Nope, Sixtynine circles away and we're back to standing.
Sixtynine stuffs the takedown attempt from Ground. Ground gets slowly back to his feet.
Nice sprawl there from Sixtynine as Ground shoots in.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ground pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Ground closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sixtynine looks like he's trying to stand up.
Ground missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Ground has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sixtynine looks like he's trying to stand up.
Sixtynine really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ground. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ground moves into full mount! Sixtynine won't be happy about that!

Ground is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Sixtynine is forced to tap! Great finish!
