The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McMullen misses with a series of wild punches.
Machida fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McMullen avoids it really well and circles away.
Machida tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but McMullen paws at him with a jab and circles away.
No joy there for McMullen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
McMullen dodges the punch combination from Machida.
Machida fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
McMullen swats away the attempt to clinch by Machida.
McMullen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Machida fails with an attempt to clinch.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Machida.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Machida works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
McMullen looks gassed!

Machida has hold of McMullen's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! McMullen tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Machida cranks the arm and McMullen screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from McMullen, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
