The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcghee scores with a hook to the body. Wilkins takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Wilkins tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mcghee sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wilkins somewhat.

Wilkins ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mcghee moves away.
Mcghee turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Some bone on bone action there as Wilkins checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Wilkins shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Wilkins was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Mcghee is looking to improve his position but Wilkins isn't that keen on the idea.
Wilkins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
You get the feeling that Mcghee really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wilkins fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wilkins is landing with some decent strikes but Mcghee is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Fancy Mcghee's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Fancy Mcghee's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
