Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Antero Vipunen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sea Bass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Antero Vipunen has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Antero Vipunen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sea Bass!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vipunen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bass stuffs the takedown.
Bass doesn't manage to clinch there - Vipunen circles away.

Bass closes the distance and clinches.
Bass throws a punch but it's blocked by Vipunen.
Bass is pressed up against the cage. Vipunen has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bass down to the mat. Bass avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Horrible takedown by Vipunen or perhaps it was just good defense by Bass which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Antero Vipunen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bass tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vipunen swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Vipunen closes the distance and clinches up with Bass, looking for a takedown. Vipunen pushes Bass against the cage but Bass circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bass looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Vipunen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Bass gets a clinch.
Vipunen jumps guard but Bass stands there with Vipunen around his waist. Vipunen gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Vipunen turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Vipunen manages to end up in side control.
Bass is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Vipunen has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Bass should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vipunen in side control, throwing shots but Bass defends.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vipunen lands a few punches from side control.
Vipunen trying to control the action but Bass is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vipunen is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Bass looks calm but he's in trouble here. Vipunen gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Bass is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Vipunen lets go of the hold and Bass can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Antero Vipunen!
