Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Wax (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carver McNulty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wax's entrance music is Never Quit. A fine choice. Carver McNulty has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Charlie Wax!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carver McNulty!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wax lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Wax misses with a head kick.
Wax swinging wildly here.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from McNulty is defended easily by Wax.
McNulty misses with a takedown attempt
and Wax counters with a right hand to the body.
McNulty tries for a takedown but Wax sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Charlie Wax has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carver McNulty.
Wax fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

McNulty closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Wax quickly recovers to half guard.
McNulty looks gassed!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
McNulty prevents Wax from standing back up.
McNulty thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Wax's head.
McNulty not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Wax gets back to full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wax is on top in guard.
Wax scoring with some ground and pound.

Wax trying to control but McNulty is working from the bottom.
Wax wants to pass the guard but McNulty is keeping the position.
Wax wants to control from the top but McNulty keeps moving.
McNulty looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wax is one step ahead there.

Wax trying to control the position from guard on top but McNulty is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Charlie Wax just wasn't active enough.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Wax!
Wax throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck McNulty on the side of the head.
Wax scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wax misses with a looping right.
Wax throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nice takedown defense from Wax. No joy for McNulty on that attempt.

and Wax counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
McNulty dives in and grabs Wax's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wax pushes down on McNulty's head and hops out.
Wax lands an overhand right.
Charlie Wax is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wax misses with the combination.
McNulty misses with a takedown
and Wax counters with a one-two to the body.
McNulty misses with a takedown
enabling Wax to counter with a crisp jab.
Wax lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wax will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Carver McNulty seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wax lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Wax connects with the punch.
McNulty shoots in and drives through. Wax sprawls well.
A punch lands to the side of McNulty 's head but he takes it in his stride.


McNulty is rocked!
McNulty finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Wax's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and McNulty falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Charlie Wax!
