Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Freddie Nightmare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger McMaster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McMaster has chosen Dropping Bombs as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Freddie Nightmare! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roger McMaster! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McMaster's jab looks to have found its range, popping Nightmare under the eye. McMaster throws a front kick aimed at Nightmare's knee but Nightmare avoids it well. McMaster throws a big shot that misses. Nightmare changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McMaster tries to avoid it but Nightmare manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McMaster to the ground. McMaster escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. McMaster misses with a wild combination.
McMaster swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
McMaster throws an off balance right hand
and Nightmare counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Nightmare with an attempt at a knee that misses.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. McMaster is trying to force a seperation but Nightmare has the dominant position. Both fighters working to control the clinch. A head punch on the inside from Nightmare fails to land. Nightmare landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Nightmare has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. McMaster avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. McMaster pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. McMaster misses with a left hand and Nightmare counters with a single leg into guard. McMaster didn't expect that.
That's one minute gone in the round. McMaster wants to get back to his feet but Nightmare is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Nightmare trying to control the position from guard on top but McMaster is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McMaster keeping full guard, as Nightmare tries to pass. McMaster wants to sweep but no luck. Nightmare in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nightmare prevents McMaster from getting back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nightmare is fighting to break McMaster's control of his arms but McMaster is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. McMaster manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Nightmare regains half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McMaster seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
McMaster stalling away here and it's allowed Nightmare to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. McMaster lands a couple of digs. Nightmare has a closed guard, preventing McMaster from standing up. McMaster controls from within his opponent's guard. McMaster tries to stand but Nightmare is controlling from the bottom. McMaster trying to control the position from guard on top but Nightmare is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. McMaster wants to stand and escape but instead Nightmare has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Nightmare trying to control the position from guard on top but McMaster is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McMaster wants to stand up but Nightmare is controlling him. Nightmare stands and throws McMaster's legs to the side, diving into side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A lull in the action here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Freddie Nightmare will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
McMaster misses with a double jab
and Nightmare counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Nightmare. Nightmare stops McMaster from standing up. Nightmare controlling from the top position. Nightmare trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. McMaster is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Nightmare wants to control from the top but McMaster keeps moving.
Freddie Nightmare has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Nightmare shoots in for a takedown but McMaster shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. McMaster throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Nightmare counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Nightmare has McMaster pressed against the cage, preventing McMaster from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Nightmare has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McMaster is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. McMaster tries to break the clinch but Nightmare is controlling the position. Nightmare pulls guard effortlessly. Nightmare is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst McMaster is controlling him. McMaster gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nightmare slips under a jab from McMaster. McMaster misses with the combination.

McMaster throws a poor cross that misses
and Nightmare counters with a nice double leg into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nightmare trying to control the position from guard on top but McMaster is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nightmare won't allow McMaster to get back to his feet. Freddie Nightmare overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nightmare controls the pace of the fight for a moment. McMaster is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Nightmare is controlling him. Nightmare looking to pass the guard. Nightmare sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McMaster's guard. McMaster wants to control but Nightmare is keeping busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Nightmare in particular looking to stall. McMaster regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Nightmare. McMaster keeping moving, preventing Nightmare from controlling successfully. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nightmare tries to free his leg and advance position but McMaster is retaining full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Freddie Nightmare dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Nightmare misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. McMaster dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Nice uppercut lands for McMaster. That snapped Nightmare's head back.
McMaster slaps away a takedown attempt from Nightmare, before circling back to the center of the mat. McMaster rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nightmare moves out of range and avoids them all easily. McMaster throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nightmare. Nightmare looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Freddie Nightmare. That's going to take a lot out of him. McMaster throws a combination that misses so Nightmare counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Nightmare controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. McMaster not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. McMaster scrambles and gets back to his feet.
McMaster misses with a two punch combination.
Nightmare shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McMaster but McMaster pushes him off and we're back to square one. Roger McMaster is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. McMaster will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
McMaster throws a combination that misses and Nightmare counters with a shoot takedown. McMaster fights it but they end up in guard. Nightmare trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Nightmare slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McMaster keeping moving, preventing Nightmare from controlling successfully. Nightmare tries to free his leg and advance position but McMaster is retaining full guard. Nightmare is working hard here to advance position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nightmare looking to sit in guard and control but McMaster gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nightmare is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. McMaster looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. McMaster is looking to break free of the clinch but Nightmare has double underhooks. A frustrated look appears on McMaster's face as he tries to break the clinch. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Nightmare as McMaster tries to tie him up. McMaster has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. McMaster wants to get back to striking at distance but Nightmare won't allow it.
McMaster wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. McMaster breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McMaster scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from McMaster. No joy for Nightmare on that attempt. Freddie Nightmare is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. McMaster throws a shot from downtown. Nightmare moves away and avoids it. A punch combination from McMaster misses. McMaster misses with a jab, cross combination.
McMaster misses with an uppercut
and Nightmare counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in McMaster's guard now. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nightmare trying to control but McMaster is working from the bottom. Nightmare seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nightmare postures up.
And that's the end of the fight! Freddie Nightmare showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nightmare, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
