Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Laken Rhett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Clay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Laken Rhett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Clay!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Anthony Taglia and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clay darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Clay scores with a takedown into Rhett's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Clay is in close to Rhett's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Rhett is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Clay trying to control the position from guard on top but Rhett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rhett controlling the position.
Rhett's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Rhett wants to sweep here but Clay controlling him for the moment.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Clay loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Rhett pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Clay misses with a wild combination.
Left hook, right uppercut from Rhett.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Clay fails with a takedown attempt.
Clay tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rhett paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Clay shoots in and drives through. Rhett sprawls well.
Clay misses with a two punch combination.
Rhett fails with a takedown attempt.
Rhett changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Clay tries to avoid it but Rhett manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Clay to the ground. Clay escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rhett fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Laken Rhett. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Clay tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rhett paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Clay has managed to clinch.
Clay tries a knee to the head but Rhett blocks it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rhett has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Clay avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Clay breaks from the clinch.
Clay shoots in but no luck this time.
Clay loads up on a big right hand but Rhett slips the punch.
Clay will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Clay looks gassed!

Clay darts in and clinches Rhett up against the cage.
Clay prevents Rhett from breaking the clinch.

Rhett pulls guard effortlessly.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Clay throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Clay stands and throws Rhett's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Clay looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Clay working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
An elbow from Clay crashes against the mat.
Rhett manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Rhett is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rhett throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Rhett perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

We're going to have a standup here because Laken Rhett wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Rhett misses with a head kick.
Clay shoots in but no luck this time.
Clay stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Clay wants it to stay on the feet.

Clay clinches with his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Clay breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Clay falls off balance throwing a combination
and Rhett counters with a series of strikes. Clay will be more careful next time no doubt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jake Clay will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Rhett throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Clay's waist but Clay gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rhett off to one side.
Clay pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Rhett shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Rhett is controlling the pace.
Rhett wants to pass to mount but Clay is defending the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rhett frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Rhett takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Clay tries to lock up and control but Rhett gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Rhett controlling from the full mount.
Poor strikes thrown by Rhett there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Rhett looking to control but Clay is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Rhett sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Rhett landing strikes from the mount and Clay is in trouble!

Rhett scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Rhett looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Rhett has control of Clay's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Clay regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Clay is looking to improve his position but Rhett isn't that keen on the idea.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rhett swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Clay is now in Rhett's guard. A big mistake from Rhett there, giving up the dominant position!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Clay stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rhett swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Laken Rhett dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Clay closes the distance and clinches up with Rhett, looking for a takedown. Clay pushes Rhett against the cage but Rhett circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Clay counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rhett moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Rhett misses with a takedown attempt - Clay sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rhett tries to close the distance and clinch up but Clay swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rhett ducks under a wild hook from Clay.
Nice uppercut lands for Clay. That snapped Rhett's head back.
Rhett throws a low kick but Clay avoids it.
A combination from Clay does no damage.
Rhett shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Clay defends it nicely.

Rhett fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Clay, pushing him back against the cage.

Clay stops a takedown attempt from Rhett.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Laken Rhett. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Clay pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Clay throws a series of punches but Rhett avoids them all with ease.
Clay tries to clinch up.

Clay takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Rhett slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Rhett's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Laken Rhett has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Rhett closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Clay to the mat! Clay manages to get full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rhett wants to pass the guard but Clay is keeping the position.
Rhett stays in close to Clay's body and controls the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Laken Rhett.
Clay falls off balance throwing a combination
and Rhett counters with a left and a right that stings Clay.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Clay tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rhett sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Clay somewhat.
Clay takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Rhett drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rhett stays in close to Clay's body and controls the position.
Rhett pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Clay is keeping the position for now.
Clay is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Rhett shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rhett showed some decent athleticism there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Clay tries to kick Rhett off in order to stand up. Rhett Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Laken Rhett showed his dominance in that final round.
