Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Iwan Pawlow!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pawlow swivels and escapes.
Velasquez slips a jab and a cross from Pawlow.

Pawlow rushes Velasquez and presses him up against the cage.
Pawlow avoiding damage.

Pawlow has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Velasquez uses from the top position.
Velasquez looking to sit in guard and control but Pawlow gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Velasquez controls Pawlow momentarily but Pawlow frees himself.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pawlow accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Pawlow trying to control the position from guard on top but Velasquez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Velasquez looking for a guillotine here but Pawlow defends easily.

Pawlow thows a big elbow that misses.
Pawlow looking to sit in guard and control but Velasquez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Pawlow looking for a sweep. Not yet Pawlow, not yet.
Velasquez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Velasquez wants to stand but Pawlow has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Velasquez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Pawlow wants to sweep but no luck.
Pawlow lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Velasquez!
Velasquez avoids a series of strikes thrown by Pawlow.
Pawlow misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pawlow goes for an armbar but Velasquez turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Velasquez.
Pawlow pulls Velasquez in to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pawlow is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Velasquez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pawlow is working away from the top position though.
Pawlow lands with a punch from half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Velasquez wants to improve his position but Pawlow is controlling well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Velasquez is trying to control but can't.
Pawlow with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Iwan Pawlow dominated that round.
That's time! Velasquez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Whack! Pawlow lands a heavy head kick that drops Velasquez. The ref tackles Pawlow to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Velasquez was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Iwan Pawlow!
