Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Travis Merle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Williams! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Damien Edna and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams rushes Merle and presses him up against the cage. Williams lands a nice elbow.
It looks like Travis Merle has been cut. Williams just leaning against Merle, taking a breather. Williams throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Williams prevents the takedown attempt.
Merle takes an elbow to the temple. Williams tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Williams throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Merle tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Williams smiles and moves away.
Williams tries to close the distance and clinch up but Merle swats him away and circles back towards the center. The fight stays on the outside here - Williams looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Merle circles away from the clinch attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round. Williams takes the fight into the clinch. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Williams. Merle takes an elbow to the forehead. Merle drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Williams gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Travis Merle. That's going to take a lot out of him. Williams looking to throw knees to the head but Merle is blocking nicely.

Merle is working for takedown but Williams is calmly controlling the position for now. Williams is pressed up against the cage. Merle has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Williams down to the mat. Williams avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams tries to clinch up but Merle circles away and keeps his distance. Williams wants to clinch. Williams moves in looking to clinch but Merle pushes him off. Williams tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Merle moves out of range of the strikes. Merle circles away from the clinch attempt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Williams tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Merle manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Williams tries to clinch there but Merle circles away.

Williams looks to throw an elbow but misses. Williams trying to land knees to the body.
Williams comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Williams lands a damaging elbow. Williams gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Travis Merle's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Merle avoids the elbow strike from Williams, against the cage.
Williams misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Merle.

Jeez, Travis Merle's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Williams pushes off an throws an elbow but Merle leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Williams tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Williams throws a knee to the head but misses.
Merle has Williams pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Williams manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Williams crunches a lovely knee into Merle's ribcage. Williams throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Merle blocks it with crossed arms.
That's four minutes gone in the round. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Williams just misses with a elbow thrown towards Merle's brow. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Williams comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Travis Merle's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Frank Williams!
