The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Steele thuds his right hand into Rubiera's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Rubiera chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Steele throws a combination. Rubiera tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Rubiera manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Steele on his heels. He'll look to pass Steele's guard now, I'm sure.

Rubiera wants to pass the guard but Steele is keeping the position.

Steele seems keen to control Rubiera's posture.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rubiera dives in and grabs Steele's left leg, looking for a takedown. Steele pushes down on Rubiera's head and hops out.

Steele works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Rubiera is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Steele.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Rubiera.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Steele, right into the meat.
Steele missing with a left hand there. Rubiera was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Steele lands with a nice combination. Rubiera backs away looking to recover.

Rubiera tries to score with a low kick but Steele moves his leg out of the way.
That kick from Rubiera tenderised Steele's leg. Steele is trying to keep his angry face on.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Steele. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Rubiera throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
George Steele seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Rubiera attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Rubiera throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Steele cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Edilson Rubiera's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Rubiera has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Steele finds it's way round the side to connect with Rubiera's head.
Steele digs a good body shot into Rubiera's ribs.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Steele lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Steele ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Steele lands a big right hand that sends Rubiera crashing to the mat! Steele stays standing though and waves Rubiera back to his feet!
Oh Rubiera is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jeez, Edilson Rubiera's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
That kick from Steele tenderised Rubiera's leg. Rubiera is trying to keep his angry face on.
Steele drops Rubiera with a straight right hand, right on the button! Steele follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
