Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shoryu Ken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Milat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shoryu Ken has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shoryu Ken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ivan Milat!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Mauricio Rocha and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ken takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Ken throws a body punch but Milat moves out of range.
Milat ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ken moves away.
Milat on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Nice uppercut lands for Milat. That snapped Ken's head back.
Milat lands a jab to Ken's midsection.
Good work by Ken as he checks the leg kick.
Milat takes a swing at Ken's ribcage but misses.
Milat blocks a low kick nicely.
Milat thows a body shot but no joy.
Milat scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ken doesn't seem bothered though.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ken shoots in looking for a takedown but Milat manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ken's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Ken is working for a kimura but Milat is defending it quite comfortably.
Milat avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ken.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Shoryu Ken will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Ken lands with a nice combination. Milat backs away looking to recover.
Milat bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ken's head backwards.
Milat closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Ken closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Ken swings around for an armbar but Milat sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Ken's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Shoryu Ken will probably get the nod.
