Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carlos Marques! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Savchuk closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Marques's guard. Marques is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Savchuk stays in close to Marques's body and controls the position. Marques is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Marques is looking to stand up but Savchuk isn't so interested in that idea. Savchuk slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
We're going to have a standup here because Roman Savchuk wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Marques moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marques gets tackled into the cage by Savchuk. Savchuk maintains the clinch. Marques misses with a knee strike.

The referee asks Savchuk politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Savchuk prefers to stall for the moment though. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Savchuk advances nicely into full mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Savchuk looking to control and managing it successfully. Savchuk has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Savchuk seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Marques for as long as he can get away with.

Marques tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Savchuk is in Marques's guard. Savchuk slows down the pace of the fight for a moment.
