Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Coach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronilson Tonelada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tonelada is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Sepultura - Roots Bloody Roots. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Coach!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ronilson Tonelada!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coach looks to land a right hand but Tonelada moved out of range.
James Coach seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tonelada fails in his attempt to clinch.
Coach throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Coach misses the jab.
Coach fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Tonelada on the side of the head.
Coach keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Coach ducks under a wild hook from Tonelada.
Coach thows a left - swing and a miss!
Tonelada walks forward, straight into a front kick from Coach.

Coach fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Tonelada keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Coach bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Coach, right into the meat.
Tonelada throws an overhand right that lands on Coach's shoulder, as Coach tries to avoid the shot.
Tonelada slips a jab from Coach.
Horrible takedown by Tonelada or perhaps it was just good defense by Coach which made him look bad.
Tonelada takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Coach scores with a decent looking hook.
Coach is looking to clinch.
Tonelada tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Tonelada thows a body shot but no joy.
Coach throws a nice outside leg kick.
Coach tries to close the distance and clinch but Tonelada swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Tonelada tries to score with a low kick but Coach moves his leg out of the way.

Tonelada moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Tonelada takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Tonelada throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

A solid leg kick lands there for Coach.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Coach scores with a jab to the body.
Coach ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Coach throws a shot to the body.
Coach misses with a hook.
Coach scores with a head kick.


It looks like Ronilson Tonelada has been cut.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Coach lands a nice shot that snaps Tonelada's head back.
Tonelada fails in his attempt to clinch.
Tonelada shoots in looking for a takedown but Coach manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tonelada's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Tonelada loads up on a big right hand but Coach slips the punch.

Coach tries to land a front kick but Tonelada steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Coach lands with an uppercut that bounces Tonelada off the ropes and back into rage.

Coach shoots for a takedown but Tonelada saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A jab from Coach finds it's way through Tonelada's defenses.
Coach scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Coach.

Tonelada has managed to clinch.
Coach is looking to control Tonelada's arms but Tonelada gets an underhook and turns him. Now Coach has his back to the ropes.
Tonelada is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Coach is keeping busy.
Tonelada tries to score a body lock takedown but Coach shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Coach tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Tonelada's elbow.

Coach lands with a light punch inside.
Coach can't find room to land a body shot as Tonelada controls the action.
Coach presses Tonelada against the ropes and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Coach escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Coach shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tonelada's guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Coach with a flurry of punches that miss.
Coach is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tonelada can do to turn this around?
Coach sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Tonelada's guard.

Coach is looking for a kimura but Tonelada is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Coach to get the leverage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Coach's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Coach checks a leg kick nicely.
Coach tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Tonelada manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Coach wants to clinch up but Tonelada keeps it at a distance.
Tonelada tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Coach was well out of range. Poor timing from Tonelada.

Coach fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Tonelada.
Tonelada shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Tonelada enables Coach to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Tonelada manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Tonelada is looking to sweep but instead, Coach has passed into half guard.
Tonelada takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Tonelada tries to roll over but Coach keeps him under control.
Coach not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Tonelada really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Coach. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Coach is looking to take a break and control but Tonelada is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Coach thows a huge punch but Tonelada dodges it nicely.
Coach thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tonelada's head.

Coach scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Coach looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tonelada with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Coach seems to be working for a kimura but Tonelada defends the submission attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Coach lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Coach thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Coach wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tonelada keeps working.
Tonelada keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Tonelada needs to keep his hands up - Coach had a free shot at his head there.
Tonelada has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Coach.
Coach jabs Tonelada right on the nose. Tonelada blinks but takes it well.

Tonelada wants to control from the top but Coach keeps moving.

Coach is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tonelada defends well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Coach throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Tonelada throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Coach works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Coach tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Tonelada has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Coach to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Tonelada is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Coach pulls down on the head and he's put Tonelada to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 4, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). James Coach!
