McCarthy comes to the cage accompanied by Glassjaw-Siberian Kiss. Rood has chosen - as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Brad Rood has the better chin. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rood throws a looping overhand right but McCarthy ducks down to avoid it.
Nice defenses there by McCarthy.
McCarthy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McCarthy fails to land with a series of punches.
Rood digs a good hook to McCarthy's body.
Rood rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and McCarthy counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
McCarthy connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
McCarthy tries a head kick but it misses.

Rood takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

McCarthy tries a low kick but Rood avoids it.
McCarthy lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

McCarthy feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Roods jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Rood looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Rood steps to the side to avoid the strikes from McCarthy.
McCarthy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rood throws out the jab.

McCarthy lands a big head kick that sends Rood tumbling to the mat! McCarthy takes a step backwards and waves Rood back to his feet - he wants the finish!
