Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mr Maroon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Brannigan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maroon comes into the arena with yes blaring out of the sound system. Brannigan has chosen QOTSA - 'You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar, But I Feel Like a Millionaire' as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Mr Maroon! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 3 - 2, fighting out of London, Alex Brannigan! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maroon shoots in but Brannigan avoids the takedown attempt easily. A shot to the liver by Maroon. Beautiful body shot. A clash of legs there as Maroon blocks the low kick. Brannigan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maroon paws at him with a jab and circles away. A looping hook to the body misses from Maroon. Brannigan does a little dance to reset his feet. Brannigan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Maroon. The fight stays on the outside here - Brannigan looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Brannigan moves out of range as Maroon strikes. Brannigan wants to clinch. Brannigan tries to clinch but fails miserably and Maroon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Brannigan tries to clinch up but Maroon circles away and keeps his distance. Brannigan ducks under a wild hook from Maroon.

Maroon looks to score with a jab to the body but Brannigan is just out of range. Brannigan has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brannigan moves in looking to clinch but Maroon pushes him off. Brannigan takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Brannigan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Maroon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Brannigan clinches. Brannigan lands an elbow inside that Maroon shrugs off. Brannigan tries to land knees in the clinch but Maroon avoids the damage to the body. Brannigan is pressed up against the cage. Maroon has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Brannigan down to the mat. Brannigan avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mr Maroon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Brannigan wants to slow Maroon down by chopping away at his legs. Maroon shoots in and drives through. Brannigan sprawls well. Good shot there by Maroon. Brannigan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Brannigan wants it to stay on the feet. Brannigan fails in his attempt to clinch. Brannigan throws a leg kick but Maroon sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Brannigan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maroon paws at him with a jab and circles away. Maroon throws a right hand that Brannigan ducks under and follows up with a left that Brannigan also avoids with ease. Brannigan slips under a jab from Maroon. Maroon fails with a takedown attempt. Brannigan misses with a low kick.
Maroon lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. A big left from Maroon misses. Brannigan motions for Maroon to come forward. Brannigan throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Brannigan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Maroon moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brannigan misses with a low kick.
Brannigan throws a leg kick but Maroon sees it coming and moves out of range. Alex Brannigan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Brannigan walks into a straight right hand from Maroon. Brannigan misses with a low kick. Maroon misses with a hook. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Maroon throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Brannigan avoids the head kick by Maroon.
Maroon connects with the punch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Brannigan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Maroon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Brannigan as he jumps to the side. Maroon jabs Brannigan right on the nose. Brannigan blinks but takes it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mr Maroon will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Brannigan, right into the meat.
Maroon is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Brannigan on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Maroon is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. This has been an exciting period of action! With the fighters up against the cage, Brannigan throws an elbow but misses. Brannigan trying to control the position but instead, Maroon has worked for underhooks and has pushed Brannigan into the cage. Brannigan manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Maroon tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Brannigan's elbow. Brannigan scores with an uppercut up the middle. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Maroon. Maroon works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Brannigan is breathing heavily. Brannigan blocks an uppercut.

Maroon lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Brannigan backwards. Brannigan tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Maroon avoids it. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Brannigan. Brannigan misses with an elbow over the top. Maroon drags the fight down to the ground.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Brannigan is posturing up here but Maroon has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Brannigan tries to roll out but it's too tight and Brannigan has to tap! Slick submission there by Maroon!
