The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romanelli closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pitkis to the mat! Pitkis manages to get full guard.
Romanelli lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Romanelli wants to stand but Pitkis is controlling his posture from full guard.

Romanelli shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pitkis but Pitkis pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Romanelli changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pitkis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Romanelli is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pitkis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Romanelli has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Pitkis is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Romanelli yanks on the arm and Pitkis is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Romanelli.
