PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Abu Sayaf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pauly D (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sayaf comes to the cage accompanied by Brand Nubian - Allah U Akbar. Pauly D told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sayaf throws a lazy head kick

and D counters by clinching up.
D can't find room to land a body shot as Sayaf controls the action.
D misses with some punches.
D digs a right hand underneath Sayaf's ribcage. Sayaf let out a lung full of air as it connected.
D blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Sayaf throws a head punch that misses.
D scores with a shoulder strike.
A short right from D on the inside.
Sayaf tries to break free but D pushes him back against the cage.
Sayaf is looking to control D's arms but D gets an underhook and turns him. Now Sayaf has his back to the cage.
D misses with a punch to the body.

Sayaf can't break the clinch.
D tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Sayaf.
A frustrated look appears on Sayaf's face as he tries to break the clinch.
D tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Sayaf avoids it.
Sayaf is trying to stall.
D misses with a punch to the body.
Sayaf blocks a body shot from D.

D with an attempt at a knee that misses.
D misses with a hook from the clinch.
D fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
A quick uppercut on the inside from D.
D tries to work over Sayaf's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
D lands a left hand.
Sayaf looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
D using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Sayaf has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
D works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
A head punch on the inside from D fails to land.

D tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
D lands with a short shot to the head.
D tries a body shot but Sayaf blocks it.
D throws a head punch that misses.
Sayaf misses with a short punch on the inside.

Sayaf's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

D makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
D pushes Sayaf back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
D unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Sayaf! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but D is unloading with more strikes now! Sayaf drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
