Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hayato Sakurai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derrick Grey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sakurai kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Holy Orders . Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hayato Sakurai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Derrick Grey! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sakurai tries to close the distance and clinch but Grey swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Grey misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sakurai.
Sakurai gets caught napping as Grey dives in and scores a takedown. Sakurai manages to retain guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Sakurai is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Grey is controlling him. Grey postures up in Sakurai's guard and throws a big left but Sakurai blocks it. Sakurai on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sakurai tries to get out of the position. Grey wants to pass the guard but Sakurai is keeping the position. Sakurai wants to stand but Grey is controlling the position. Sakurai is wriggling around but Grey manages to pass to half guard.
Grey takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Sakurai is trying to stand up here but Grey is controlling him well. Grey seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sakurai does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grey is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Sakurai has hold of Grey's hands but Grey slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Sakurai tries to kick Grey off in order to stand up. Grey Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Grey in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Sakurai is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Sakurai taking punishment in the form of punches.
Grey trying to control the position but Sakurai is working away. Grey cracks Sakurai with an elbow. That is naaassty. Grey is looking to take a break and control but Sakurai is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Sakurai is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Grey tries for a kimura but Sakurai is defending well. Sakurai knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Grey on the ground. Sakurai is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Grey is controlling him well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This has been an exciting period of action! Grey controlling from side mount. Grey in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Sakurai is not content to let Grey control the position. Sakurai pushes Grey away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Grey gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Grey landing strikes. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Sakurai tries to escape but Grey is in control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Grey wants to control but Sakurai is keeping him busy. You can see the frustration on Sakurai's face as Grey controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sakurai is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Grey is looking to take a break and control but Sakurai is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Sakurai pushes Grey away and creates a bit of space to escape. That's four minutes gone in the round. Sakurai is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Grey has just dragged him back down to the mat. Grey has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Grey scoring with punches and elbows. This has been an exciting period of action! Grey is chipping away with strikes.
Grey works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Grey is putting a hurting on Sakurai here, landing some big shots from side control. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Grey trying to control the action but Sakurai is working from the bottom. Sakurai is trying to buck Grey off. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Derrick Grey dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Sakurai takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Grey fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sakurai avoids it really well and circles away. Grey showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sakurai.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sakurai swings away with a body shot that misses
and Grey counters with a series of strikes. Sakurai will be more careful next time no doubt. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grey shoots in but Sakurai avoids the takedown attempt easily. Sakurai throws a series of punches but Grey moves out of range. Grey closes the distance and clinches up with Sakurai, looking for a takedown. Grey pushes Sakurai against the cage but Sakurai circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Hayato Sakurai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derrick Grey. A jab from Sakurai misses. Grey misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sakurai throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Sakurai lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Grey circles away quickly and effectively. A jab lands there for Grey. Sakurai slips a jab and a cross from Grey.
Sakurai missing with a left hand there. Grey was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Grey fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Hayato Sakurai is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A leg kick checked by Grey. Sakurai walks into a stiff left hand from Grey. Sakurai misses with a looping right. Grey takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Grey throws a looping overhand right but Sakurai ducks down to avoid it. Sakurai throws a hook but Grey blocks it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sakurai lands a two punch combo.
Sakurai lunges at Grey with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Grey's hand. Sakurai is looking to clinch but Grey is avoiding it.
Grey looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. No luck for Grey with that takedown attempt. Sakurai misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hayato Sakurai dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Grey moves forwards but Sakurai connects with a nice, crisp jab. Grey shoots in but no luck this time. Grey misses the shot to the body. Sakurai doesn't manage to clinch there - Grey circles away.
Grey shoots in and drives through. Sakurai sprawls well. Sakurai throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hayato Sakurai is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grey shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sakurai manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Grey working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Grey won't allow Sakurai to get back to his feet. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Grey accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Grey working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sakurai's head. Sakurai has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Grey off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Grey shoots in but no luck this time. Hayato Sakurai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derrick Grey.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grey shoots for a takedown but Sakurai saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Grey shoots in for a takedown but Sakurai shows good takedown defense. Grey misses with a low kick.
Grey scores with a crisp jab that stopped Sakurai in his tracks. A right-left combo lands from Sakurai. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Grey missing with a left hand there. Sakurai was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grey throws out a powerful jab. Grey throws a front kick aimed at Sakurai's knee but Sakurai avoids it well. Grey blocks a head kick by Sakurai.
Sakurai keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Grey throws a poor cross that misses
and Sakurai counters with a one-two to the body. Sakurai moves forwards but Grey connects with a nice, crisp jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Grey tries to clinch but Sakurai moves out of range. Derrick Grey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sakurai defending well as Grey loads up on a big left hand. Grey throws a big shot that misses. A head kick misses from Sakurai. Grey has a takedown stuffed. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Grey dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sakurai. That did some damage!
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Derrick Grey. I think Grey has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
