Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Happy Me! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Malchik Spalchik! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Me drives through with a takedown into guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Me got a little sloppy there for a moment and Spalchik has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Me has managed to get both his arms back between Spalchik's legs - danger averted. Me will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Me trying to control the position from guard on top but Spalchik is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Me decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Me leaves Spalchik with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Me gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Spalchik stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Me manages to pull guard.
Spalchik pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Me is keeping the position for now. Me keeping moving, preventing Spalchik from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spalchik is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Spalchik throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Me is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Me knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Spalchik on the ground. Me working for a triangle but Spalchik defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Spalchik looking to sit in guard and control but Me gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Spalchik looking for a triangle here. Me is fighting it but it looks tight! Spalchik pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Me is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Malchik Spalchik!
