Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nakki Makkara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ferdek Kiepski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ferdek Kiepski! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kiepski gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Makkara scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Makkara closes the distance and clinches. Makkara lands with a short shot to the head. Makkara lands with a short head shot on the inside. Makkara lands with a short shot to the head. Nice body punch from Makkara. Makkara lands a nice uppercut. Makkara gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kiepski.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Makkara lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Makkara gets through Kiepski's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Makkara lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Kiepski backwards. Makkara lands a right hand that snaps the head of Kiepski backwards. Makkara lands with a right to the head. Makkara stalls. Makkara scores with a shoulder strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Makkara creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Makkara working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Makkara scores with an uppercut up the middle. Nice body punch from Makkara - that landed with a thud.

Makkara lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Kiepski or not. Kiepski looks gassed! Kiepski jumps guard but Makkara stands there with Kiepski around his waist. Kiepski gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kiepski is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Makkara pulls him back up using the underhooks. Nakki Makkara has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ferdek Kiepski. Makkara lands with a short shot to the head. A shot in the inside from Makkara. Makkara stalling against the cage.
Makkara's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Kiepski shoots in looking for a takedown but Makkara manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kiepski's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. A cross from Makkara lands. Makkara moves into the clinch. Kiepski's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! A shot in the inside from Makkara. A nice left hand lands by Makkara.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Makkara seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Makkara lands with a right to the head. Makkara effectively controlling the action here. Makkara lands a shoulder strike. Makkara is pressed up against the cage. Kiepski has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Makkara down to the mat. Makkara avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Makkara uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kiepski. Makkara cracks Kiepski with a good jab. Kiepski takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Makkara moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Kiepski is rocked! Kiepski gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Kiepski is still on wobbly legs! Can Makkara finish him? Kiepski throws a wild hook but Makkara just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Kiepski gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Makkara raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nakki Makkara!
