Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Fire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tommy Fire is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tommy Fire!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Chad Campbell and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fire tries to bum rush Edgar with a series of wild strikes but Edgar uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Fire throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Fire swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nice sprawl there from Edgar as Fire shoots in.
Frankie Edgar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Edgar is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Edgar fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fire sprawls well initially but Edgar persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Edgar seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fire does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Fire slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fire swings wildly with an uppercut but Edgar uses good head movement to avoid it.

Edgar has Fire pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Edgar pulls back from the ropes and twists to the side, sending Fire tumbling to the mat - Edgar dives into Fire's guard.

Fire escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Edgar feints and as Fire raises his hands in defense, Edgar changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fire bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Edgar's guard.

Fire decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

I would just about give that final round to Tommy Fire.
