Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Slater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Billy Slater has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Billy Slater!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Slater. Those never looked like landing.
Some wild striking there from Slater.
Evans throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Evans rushes Slater and presses him up against the cage.

Evans's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Evans drives through and clinches with Slater against the cage.
Evans keeps control of Slater as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Evans utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Evans escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Joe Evans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Evans moves into the clinch.

Evans has picked Slater up - he's going for a ride! Evans dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Evans fails to land with a series of punches.

Evans rushes Slater and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Evans's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Evans shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Evans was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Slater tries to hold on but Evans pushes him away.
Slater regains half guard.
Evans sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Evans tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Slater moves into full guard.

Slater working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Evans doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Evans manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Evans gets to his feet. Slater looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Slater fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Slater looks to land a combination but Evans avoids it well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A jab from Evans does it's job there.
Evans fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Slater manages to avoid it.

Evans drives through and clinches with Slater against the cage.
Slater is trying to break free.

Evans breaks from the clinch.
Evans throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A punch combination from Slater misses.

Evans forces Slater back against the cage and clinches.

Evans breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Evans instigates a clinch.
Slater is trying to break the clinch but Evans is controlling him.

Evans ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Evans no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Slater wants to pass the guard but Evans is keeping the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Slater postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Evans is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Slater, into his guard.

Slater is looking for a triangle but Evans pushes his legs off easily.

Slater has his foot on Evans's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Evans works his way back into a safe position though.
Evans has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Slater looking for subs off his back but Evans has passed one foot through into half guard.
Evans not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Evans is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Slater doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Evans.
Slater regains full guard. Nicely done.

Evans shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Slater is trying to defend but Evans finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Slater actively working from the bottom here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Slater has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Evans is working away from the top position though.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Slater has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Evans's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

A frustrated look appears on Slater's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Evans breaks the clinch.
Slater looks to land a combination. Evans sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


It looks like Joe Evans has been cut.
Joe Evans is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Evans gets a double leg takedown into Slater's guard.

Slater looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Evans is defending well. Slater quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Evans has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Slater celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
