PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Heavy Damage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manuel Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Damage comes to the cage accompanied by South Afrika. Silva has chosen a milli as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for Silva.
Silva stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Silva wants it to stay on the feet.
Silva lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Damage backs up against the cage.
Donk. Silva catches Damage right on the button with a cross.
Damage throws a hook but Silva avoids it easily.
Silva on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Damage ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Silva moves away.
Silva misses with a two punch combination.
Silva misses with a jab, cross combination.
Damage shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Silva pinned against the cage. Silva gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Silva displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Damage.

Silva throws a right hand that Damage ducks under and follows up with a left that Damage also avoids with ease.

Damage closes this distance looking for a takedown but Silva circles away.
Silva takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Damage is looking to wear down Silva with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Damage throws a body punch but Silva moves out of range.
Silva keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Damage thows a body kick. Silva tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Silva doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Damage shoots for a takedown but Silva saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Silva counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Damage throws a half hearted mid kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silva cracks Damage with an open hand slap.
Damage looks to land a right hand but Silva moved out of range.
Silva swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Damage is trying hard to land a takedown here. Silva sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Damage connects with a high kick.
Damage cracks Silva with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

and Damage counters with a good, hard body kick but Silva shrugs it off.

Damage shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Silva as he avoids it easily.

and Silva takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Damage keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Silva lands a jab-cross combination.
Damage lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silva circles away quickly and effectively.
Heavy Damage is winning the standup battle so far.
Damage has his takedown stuffed
and Silva counters with a three punch combo that has Damage backing up. Damage nods at Silva to acknowledge the strikes.
Damage wants to slow Silva down by chopping away at his legs.
Silva slaps away a takedown attempt from Damage, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Damage walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Silva checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Damage digs a good body shot into Silva's ribs.
Damage connects with a right hand. Silva shakes it off.
Silva moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Damage rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silva moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Silva bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Damage.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Damage is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Silva is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Damage moves into full mount!

Damage thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Damage wants to control the pace but Silva is squirming around nicely.
Silva avoids a series of strikes thrown by Damage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silva is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Damage jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Silva is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Silva and Damage has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Damage decides to stand back up. Damage steps back and let's Silva get back to his feet.

Damage shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Sloppy strikes from Damage. Those never looked like landing.

Damage darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Damage has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Damage stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Silva to get to his feet.

Silva is pushing Damage's head away, looking to escape. Damage manages to hold on to the position though.
Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Damage throws a strike aimed at the side of Silva's head but Silva avoids it well.
Damage is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Silva can do to turn this around?
Damage tries to score with some ground and pound. Silva controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
