The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benedez closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Afonasjevich quickly recovers to half guard.
Afonasjevich scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Benedez manages to mount him!
Afonasjevich is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Benedez postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Afonasjevich looks a forlorn figure.
