And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shane Williams!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cabrera fails with an attempt to clinch.
Williams tries to bum rush Cabrera with a series of wild strikes but Cabrera uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Cabrera shoots in and bounces Williams off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Williams not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Williams looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Cabrera slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Cabrera gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Williams keeps the fight on the outside.
Williams looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Williams misses with a wild combination.
Williams throws a low kick, looking for Cabrera's leg but Cabrera calmly moves out of range.

Cabrera closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Williams quickly recovers to half guard.

Cabrera is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Williams sees it coming and defends easily.

Cabrera tries to stand and escape but Williams actually recovers to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Williams wants to hit a switch here but Cabrera passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Williams there!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cabrera putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Cabrera moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Williams has worked his arm free - good work by Williams!
Williams is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Cabrera knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Williams on the ground.

Cabrera seems to be looking for submissions.
Williams gets full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Cabrera tries to close the distance and clinch up but Williams swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Cabrera looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Cabrera looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Williams manages to get to full guard.
Cabrera trying to stand up but can't free himself from Williams's guard.
Cabrera lands a couple of elbows.

Cabrera gets to his feet. Williams looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Cabrera's corner calls for a 1-2. Cabrera obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Cabrera fails with a takedown attempt.
Cabrera throws a nice looking combination but Williams bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Cabrera shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Williams's guard.
Williams seems keen to control Cabrera's posture.
Williams is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Williams is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Shane Williams.
Williams fakes the leg kick and cracks Cabrera in the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Williams connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.


It looks like Alejandro Cabrera has been cut.
Cabrera misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Williams throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Williams misses with a double jab.
The fighters circle, before Williams throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Cabrera's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Williams lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Shane Williams!
