Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Leon Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody A Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Souza comes to the cage accompanied by i am #1. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller throws a head kick that Souza semi-blocks.
Miller fails with an attempt to clinch.

Souza tries to keep at a distance but Miller has taken the fight into the clinch.
Miller prevents a takedown attempt there.
Miller lands a knee to the head.
Souza jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Miller walks away with a smile on his face. Souza gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Souza swats away the attempt to clinch by Miller.
Miller throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Miller tries to clinch but Souza is having none of it.

Miller takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Souza misses with a few strikes there.

Miller defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Souza.

Miller stands up and beckons Souza to join him on the feet.

Souza has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Miller is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Miller escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Miller throws a front kick that sends Souza stumbling back into the cage.

Miller clinches up with Souza and pushes him back against the cage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Miller leaves Souza with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Miller decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Miller uses his free foot to push down on Souza's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Souza.

Miller really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Souza. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Miller stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Miller closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Miller throws a knee to the head but misses.
Miller putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Souza in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

and Miller counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Miller is looking to clinch but Souza is avoiding it.
Miller defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Souza.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Souza clinches up with Miller and pushes him back against the cage.

and Miller counters by moving into the clinch.

Miller pulls guard successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miller trying to keep a closed guard but Souza is proving a slippery customer.

Souza is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Miller is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Miller has escaped and now he's on top!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Cody A Miller wasn't active enough on the ground.

Souza is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Souza is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Miller is tapping! Great win for Souza!
