Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Better Muller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Athan Stamatis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muller cracks Stamatis with a right hand to the side of the head.
Muller ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stamatis moves away.
Muller gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Muller throws a head punch that misses.
Stamatis breaks the clinch.
Muller looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Stamatis is fending him off so far but Muller persists. Nope, Stamatis circles away and we're back to standing.

Better Muller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stamatis takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Stamatis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Muller circles away.

That's time! Muller's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Muller changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stamatis tries to avoid it but Muller manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stamatis to the ground. Stamatis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Stamatis avoids a punch combination nicely.
Muller misses with a looping right.
Stamatis pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stamatis's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Muller connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Stamatis scrambles back to his feet.

Muller shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Stamatis is trying to defend but Muller finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Muller wants to free his trapped foot but Stamatis is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Muller looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Stamatis with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Better Muller just wasn't active enough.
A punch lands to the side of Stamatis 's head but he takes it in his stride.
