Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bong Park (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takanori Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takanori Gomi will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bong Park! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Takanori Gomi! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gomi misses with a few strikes there.
Park tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Park misses with a leg kick and Gomi counters with a series of strikes. Park will be more careful next time no doubt. Gomi slips under a jab from Park. Gomi throws a combination. Park tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Park closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gomi did well to prevent Park getting side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Gomi trying to control but Park postures up.
Gomi works his way to full guard. Good work. Park trying to control the position from guard on top but Gomi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Park throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gomi works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Park has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Park trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gomi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Park. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Park passes Gomi's left leg - he's now in half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Park wants to pass the guard but Gomi is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Park is working for a kimura but Gomi is defending it quite comfortably.
Park is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gomi defends it well. Park passes the guard and advances to mount! Park throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Gomi because Park loaded up on that one. Park landing strikes from the mount and Gomi is in trouble!
It looks like Takanori Gomi has been cut. Park lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Gomi hang on? Gomi tries to reverse the position but Park maintains control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Park breaks from Gomi's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Gomi is rocked! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Park cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Gomi is still in real trouble! Can Park finish him?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Park is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Gomi is surviving well by controlling Park's body position as best he can. A big strike lands for Park! That's really hurt Gomi and he's turned his back - Park keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Park jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bong Park!
