5 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nik Nechvidov! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Dmitry Maklakov and Viktor Lagutenko.

Volohander gets in close and instigates a clinch. Nechvidov looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Nechvidov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nechvidov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Nechvidov throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Volohander slaps away a takedown attempt from Nechvidov, before circling back to the center of the mat. Nechvidov misses with a takedown attempt - Volohander sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Volohander is looking to clinch.
Volohander closes the distance and clinches. Nechvidov is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Nechvidov tries to land knees in the clinch but Volohander avoids the damage to the body. Volohander wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Volohander's face as he tries to break the clinch. Volohander wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Volohander pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. No luck with that takedown attempt from Nechvidov. Medved Volohander has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nik Nechvidov. Volohander tries to clinch but Nechvidov moves out of range.

Volohander tries to circle away but Nechvidov has him pinned against the cage.
Volohander breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Volohander's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. The fighters circle momentarily. Volohander darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Volohander fails with an attempt to clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Volohander lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Volohander lands the left hand.

Volohander moves into the clinch.
Volohander escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Volohander fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nechvidov, pushing him back against the cage.
Volohander breaks from the clinch.
Volohander throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Nechvidov stumbling backwards into the cage! Nechvidov bounces back off the cage towards Volohander, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Volohander lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Volohander celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Medved Volohander!
