Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Haas Pratt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Esperanza!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Colin Fotheringham and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esperanza throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Esperanza is looking to clinch.
Pratt has taken the fight to the clinch.
Esperanza wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pratt has him pressed against the cage.
Esperanza works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Pratt being controlled here, momentarily.
Esperanza would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Pratt is working an open guard so Esperanza takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Pratt throws a poor cross that misses
and Esperanza makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Pratt really felt that one!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Pratt misses with a hook
and Esperanza makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Pratt is breathing heavily.
Esperanza tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Pratt manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Esperanza shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pratt napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Esperanza takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Pratt throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Esperanza will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Esperanza counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Esperanza seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Esperanza is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Esperanza uses his free foot to push down on Pratt's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pratt.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Pratt shoots in for a double leg but Esperanza sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Pratt seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Esperanza does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Esperanza is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pratt's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pratt's back!

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Pratt fails with a takedown attempt.
Esperanza tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pratt sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Esperanza somewhat.

Pratt fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Esperanza sprawls well initially but Pratt persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Pratt tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Esperanza.
Pratt wants to pass to mount but Esperanza is defending the position.

Esperanza is looking to control Pratt's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Esperanza avoid being mounted?

Jimmy Esperanza is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Pratt shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Esperanza pinned against the cage. Esperanza gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Pratt lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Esperanza has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Esperanza and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Pratt has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Esperanza regains guard immediately.

Esperanza working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pratt doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pratt manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well Esperanza has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
