Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Santi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carson Holliday (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Holliday has chosen Andreas Johnson - Glorious as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carson Holliday! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Columbo Gatti and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Holliday steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Santi. Holliday tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Santi swivels and escapes. Santi throws a lazy right hand but Holliday sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Santi is looking to clinch but Holliday is avoiding it.
Holliday with a lazy takedown attempt and Santi cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Santi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Holliday paws at him with a jab and circles away. Santi shoots in but no luck this time. Santi misses with a wild body shot. A decent looking cross lands there for Santi. Santi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Santi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Santi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Santi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Holliday to the mat! Holliday manages to get full guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Holliday is looking for a triangle but Santi pushes his legs off easily.

Holliday sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Santi wants to control but Holliday is having none of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Poor strikes thrown by Holliday there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

That was a close round but I would say that Chris Santi will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

We're going to have a standup here because Chris Santi wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Santi closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Holliday quickly recovers to half guard. Santi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Holliday does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Holliday moves into full guard.

Santi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Holliday swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Holliday passes easily into side control. Nice work. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Santi is not content to let Holliday control the position. The referee asks Holliday politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Holliday prefers to stall for the moment though. A close third round but Carson Holliday just about did enough to take it. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Holliday was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Holliday is defended easily by Santi. Carson Holliday dominated that fourth round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
