Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nek Olob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Schnieder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schnieder shoots for a takedown but Olob saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Olob uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Schnieder looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Olob is fending him off so far but Schnieder persists. Nope, Olob circles away and we're back to standing.

Schnieder feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Nick Schnieder hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Schnieder closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Schnieder is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Olob will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Olob is working to avoid the ground and pound but Schnieder connects with a decent elbow.
