Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jose Banduras! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Henderson! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Banduras checks a leg kick. Banduras doesn't manage to clinch there - Henderson circles away.
Henderson connects with a body shot that sends Banduras's belly button to the back. Banduras is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Banduras shoots in looking for a takedown but Henderson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Banduras's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Jason Henderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Banduras fails in his attempt to clinch. Banduras fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Henderson sprawls well initially but Banduras persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Henderson wants to control but Banduras is keeping busy.
Henderson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Banduras. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Banduras gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Henderson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Banduras circles away quickly and effectively. A looping hook to the body misses from Henderson. Banduras does a little dance to reset his feet. Henderson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Henderson loads up on a big right hand but Banduras slips the punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Henderson rushes Banduras and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Henderson tries to score a body lock takedown but Banduras shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Henderson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Banduras misses with a knee to the head. Henderson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Banduras avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Jose Banduras has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Henderson. Henderson looks gassed! Banduras connects with a knee to the head.
It looks like Jason Henderson has been cut. Banduras lands a body shot in the clinch.
Henderson takes a knee to the side of the body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Banduras decides to pull guard. Banduras manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Banduras is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Henderson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Banduras is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Henderson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Banduras tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Henderson holds on to Banduras around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks. Banduras thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Henderson blocking the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jose Banduras dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jason Henderson's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Banduras lands a damaging elbow. Banduras jumps guard and drags Henderson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Banduras looking for a sweep. Not yet Banduras, not yet. This has been an exciting period of action! Banduras is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Banduras pulls Henderson in to control the position. Henderson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Henderson is breathing heavily. Banduras wants to sweep here but Henderson controlling him for the moment. Banduras wants to stand up but Henderson is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Banduras wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Jose Banduras just wasn't active enough. Henderson blocks a head kick by Banduras.
Henderson throws a right and a left that both miss. Banduras wants to clinch up but Henderson keeps it at a distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Banduras tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Henderson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Banduras tries to clinch but Henderson moves away and Henderson counters with a nice leg kick. Banduras gets tackled into the cage by Henderson. Henderson maintains the clinch. Banduras lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
That has opened up Jason Henderson's cut even more. Banduras creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Henderson's defenses.
The cut above Jason Henderson's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Banduras landing some nice looking knees to the body.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Banduras lands a nice knee to the body. Banduras lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Banduras misses with a punch on the inside.
Banduras escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Henderson swats away the attempt to clinch by Banduras. Jason Henderson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Banduras wants to clinch. Henderson loads up on a big right hand but Banduras slips the punch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Banduras wants to clinch up but Henderson keeps it at a distance. Henderson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Banduras counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Henderson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Knees to the body from Banduras.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Banduras wants to sweep here but Henderson controlling him for the moment. Banduras is adopting a defensive guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Banduras throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Henderson's waist but Henderson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Banduras off to one side. Banduras is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Henderson can do to turn this around? Henderson swats away the attempt to clinch by Banduras. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Banduras looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Henderson is fending him off so far but Banduras persists. Nope, Henderson circles away and we're back to standing. Banduras gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Henderson to score an easy takedown into full guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
