The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Macarenco throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Lopez dives in and grabs Macarenco's left leg, looking for a takedown. Macarenco pushes down on Lopez's head and hops out.
Lopez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Macarenco circles away.
Lopez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lexandro Lopez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lopez is defended easily by Macarenco.
Lopez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Lopez is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Macarenco to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Macarenco shrugs it off.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Lopez wants to finish this one by submission but Macarenco is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Lopez.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Macarenco's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Lopez working for a submission but Macarenco is keeping him at bay.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Macarenco wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Lopez quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Lopez but it's paid off an Macarenco is forced to tap! Nice work by Lopez.
