Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Beam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roberto Cavalli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cavalli has chosen The Offspring - Pretty fly (bass cover) as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jim Beam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Roberto Cavalli!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Vladimir Khabensky and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cavalli throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Beam.
Beam fails with the takedown.
Cavalli throws a head kick that Beam semi-blocks.

Beam fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cavalli sprawls well initially but Beam persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Beam throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Beam connects with a nice short shot to Cavalli's temple.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Beam scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Cavalli really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beam. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cavalli has hold of Beam's hands but Beam slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cavalli is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Beam scores with a couple of nice shots.

Beam works his way into side control.
Beam really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Cavalli is letting Beam control him for a moment.

A lull in the action here as Beam stalls from top position.

Cavalli takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Beam cracks Cavalli with a big right hand but Cavalli just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Beam connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Cavalli some visible discomfort.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Beam tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Beam shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cavalli but Cavalli pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Cavalli throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cavalli wants to stand and escape but instead Beam has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Beam's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Cavalli throws a sloppy head kick and Beam moves out of range easily.

Cavalli slaps away a takedown attempt from Beam, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Roberto Cavalli seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cavalli shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Beam eats them both and turns towards Cavalli to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Beam misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Beam shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cavalli defends it nicely.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
