Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tyrone Bate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wayne Andrews!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Bate.
Andrews takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Andrews takes the fight into the clinch.
Bate trying to stall but Andrews improves his position.
Andrews is pushing Bate up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Bate lands a right hand that snaps the head of Andrews backwards.

Bate is rocked!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Andrews is pushing down on Bate's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bate is fighting to maintain full guard but Andrews has managed to sneak the leg through.
Oh Bate is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Andrews seems to be working for a kimura but Bate defends the submission attempt.

Andrews is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bate doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Andrews.

Andrews is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Bate is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Andrews jumps into side control!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Wayne Andrews hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Andrews closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Bate manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Andrews postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Andrews must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Andrews is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bate bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Andrews's guard.

Bate is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Andrews is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Bate swings wildly with an uppercut but Andrews uses good head movement to avoid it.

Bate lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Andrews wants to stall.
Andrews prevents a body shot from Bate.
Bate changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Andrews fights it off and pushes away nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tyrone Bate.
I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
