Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Szyslak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patrick Young has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Patrick Young!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Nick Szyslak!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Young tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Young throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Szyslak.
Young looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Young slips a jab from Szyslak.
Szyslak will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Young uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Szyslak.
Szyslak throws a hook but Young blocks it.

Young takes the fight into the clinch.
Young wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Young using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Szyslak has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Young fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Young creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Young has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Szyslak avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Patrick Young. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Szyslak lands a hook that snaps the head of Young backwards.

Szyslak breaks from the clinch.
Szyslak throws the left hand but Young avoids the punch easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Young changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Szyslak tries to avoid it but Young manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Szyslak to the ground. Szyslak escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Young on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Young keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Szyslak.
Young misses with a head kick.
Young misses with a low kick.
Szyslak misses with a looping right.
Young moves out of range of the strikes.
Szyslak throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Young throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Szyslak avoids the head kick by Young.
Szyslak thows a left - swing and a miss!

Young feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Young is stalling in the full guard.
Szyslak is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Young postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Young trying to control but Szyslak is working from the bottom.
Young will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Young trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Szyslak manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Young is trying to keep Szyslak in close.
Young is pulling down on Szyslak's head. It's preventing any offense from Szyslak, at least for the moment.
Young can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Szyslak controls the pace.
Let's hope that Szyslak has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Szyslak is fighting to break Young's control of his arms but Young is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Szyslak trying to control but Young is working from the bottom.
Young seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Young looking for a sweep. Not yet Young, not yet.
Szyslak stops Young from standing up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Szyslak wants to control from the top but Young keeps moving.
Young looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Szyslak puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Young gets back to full guard.
Young on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Young tries to get out of the position.
Young is breathing heavily.
Young controlling Szyslak's posture.
Young is looking to stand up but Szyslak isn't so interested in that idea.
Szyslak sitting in guard here, content to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Patrick Young will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Young tries to clinch up.
Szyslak scores with a hook to the body. Young takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Szyslak scores with a jab. Young acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Young fails with a takedown attempt.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Young.
Young moves forwards but Szyslak connects with a nice, crisp jab.


Young is rocked!
Szyslak digs a good hook to Young's body.
Oh Young is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Szyslak cracks Young on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Young falls backwards against the cage. Szyslak follows up with more strikes that drop Young to his knees. Szyslak keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Young! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nick Szyslak!
