Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimbo Te Mako!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tap Out!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Out throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Te Mako on the side of the head.
A combination from Out does no damage.
Out throws a nice looking combination but Te Mako bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Out misses with a few strikes there.
Te Mako has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Out finds it's way round the side to connect with Te Mako's head.
Out misses with a body kick.
Out leaves Te Mako with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Te Mako checks a low kick from Out.
Out throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Out misses with an attempted mid kick.
Out throws a right and a left that Te Mako avoids nicely.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Out gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Te Mako to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Te Mako has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Te Mako throws a strike but Out rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Out must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Te Mako has his hands on Out's head, controlling the position.
Te Mako will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Out trying to stand up but can't free himself from Te Mako's guard.

Te Mako displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Out throws out the jab.

Out lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Out misses with a series of wild punches.
Out will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
