Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mateus Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bull Terrier! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Terrier manages to avoid it. Some wild striking there from Terrier.
Gracie throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Gracie takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Terrier stuffs the takedown. Gracie has a takedown stuffed. Terrier leaves Gracie with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mateus Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Terrier scores with a hook to the body. Gracie takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Gracie tries to land a leg kick but Terrier saw it coming and moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie tries to work over Terrier's front leg with a kick but Terrier checks it. Gracie misses with a low kick. Terrier throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gracie. Gracie takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Some bone on bone action there as Terrier checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Terrier moves out of range of the leg kick from Gracie. Gracie throws a leg kick but Terrier checks it. Bull Terrier is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Gracie slips a straight right by Terrier. Gracie swings away with a leg kick that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Terrier lands a nice shot to the body.

Gracie tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Terrier is able to avoid easily. Mateus Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gracie moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Gracie misses with a low kick.
Terrier takes a swing at Gracie's ribcage but misses. Terrier misses with a double jab.
Terrier catches Gracie with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Terrier misses the shot to the body. Gracie shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Terrier sprawls well. Terrier wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Terrier throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Terrier connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Gracie will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Gracie throws a low kick, looking for Terrier's leg but Terrier calmly moves out of range. Terrier throws the left hand but Gracie avoids the punch easily. Gracie wants to slow Terrier down by chopping away at his legs. Terrier checks a low kick from Gracie. Gracie throws a front kick aimed at Terrier's knee but Terrier avoids it well. Gracie misses with an attempted mid kick.
Terrier checks the leg kick. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gracie misses with a low kick.
Gracie has a takedown stuffed. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bull Terrier dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Terrier scores with a nice strike. Gracie thows a body shot but no joy. Terrier fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Gracie wants to slow Terrier down by chopping away at his legs. Terrier throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Gracie is looking to wear down Terrier with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Gracie looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Gracie misses with a low kick as Terrier jumps back. Terrier scores with a body shot.
Terrier lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gracie swings for the body but Terrier moves out of range.
Terrier pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Gracie back to the cage. Terrier follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Terrier checks a leg kick nicely. Gracie throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Terrier connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Bull Terrier seems to be getting the better of the standup. Terrier misses with a few strikes there.

Terrier throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gracie stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Gracie misses with a low kick.
Terrier throws a shot from downtown. Gracie moves away and avoids it. Gracie throws out a leg kick but Terrier moves out of range and Gracie only half commits.

Terrier looks to score with a jab to the body but Gracie is just out of range. Gracie throws a hook to the side of Terrier's head but Terrier sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Terrier checks a leg kick. Gracie shoots in for a double leg but Terrier sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Terrier moves out of range of the body kick. Bull Terrier is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Terrier stuns Gracie with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Gracie shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Terrier lands a right hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Terrier pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Gracie back to the cage. Terrier follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Gracie walks into a left hand. Terrier changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Nice shot lands for Terrier. Gracie pivots, looking for a leg kick but Terrier is out of range and Gracie settles back down. Terrier connects with a right hand. Gracie shakes it off. Terrier keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Terrier blocks a leg kick. Gracie takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Terrier goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Gracie shoots and misses and Terrier counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mateus Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Terrier avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Gracie throws a leg kick but Terrier moved away. A jab from Terrier finds it's way through Gracie's defenses. Terrier with a body punch. A glancing blow. Nice jab there from Terrier.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Some bone on bone action there as Terrier checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Gracie looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Terrier keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Gracie throws a low kick but Terrier avoids it. Gracie throws the kick towards the body but Terrier avoids it. Nice uppercut there from Terrier. Terrier checks a low kick from Gracie. Terrier lands with a nice combination. Gracie backs away looking to recover. A clash of legs there as Terrier blocks the low kick. Terrier moves out of range of the leg kick from Gracie.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Terrier lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gracie circles away quickly and effectively. Gracie closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Terrier quickly recovers to half guard. Terrier pushes Gracie off looking to stand but Gracie dives back in and keeps control.
Gracie scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Gracie is nestled in close to Terrier, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Terrier pushes Gracie off and gets back to his feet. Gracie tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Gracie motions for Terrier to come forward. Gracie throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Mateus Gracie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bull Terrier is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Terrier lands with a nice combination. Gracie backs away looking to recover. Gracie takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Terrier throws a combination. Gracie tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
And that's the end of the fight! Bull Terrier comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Terrier winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
