Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Montross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Halladay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Halladay has chosen By the Way as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Marcus Montross has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Montross closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Halladay did well to prevent Montross getting side control. Halladay works his way to full guard. Good work. Montross loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Halladay has control of Montross's left arm, preventing Montross from doing any damage. Montross stands up over Halladay, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Halladay is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Let's hope that Halladay has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Halladay working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Montross doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Halladay is tightening it up a little... Montross has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Montross reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Montross taps out! nice BJJ there by Halladay!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Jon Halladay!
