Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sean Knott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shane Johnson! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson moves out of range of the body kick. Knott misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Johnson enables Knott to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Johnson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Knott seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Johnson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Knott is looking to work some ground and pound but Johnson has wrist control. Knott is standing up over Johnson. Johnson looks to escape but Knott dives into side control.

The ref makes him back up and allows Johnson to get to his feet. Knott stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Johnson.

Knott closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth. Johnson tries to escape but Knott is in control. Knott stands up and beckons Johnson to his feet. Shane Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Knott throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Knott is in Johnson's guard. Johnson wants to get back to his feet but Knott is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Johnson keeping moving, preventing Knott from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson being controlled here, momentarily. This has been an exciting period of action! If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Sean Knott. Johnson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Johnson tries a head kick but it misses.

Knott throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Johnson was covering up waiting for the punch and Knott finishes the takedown easily into guard. Knott is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Johnson is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Knott dives into side control.

Knott misses with some ground and pound and Johnson recovers position to half guard. Knott content to control rather than advance. Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Knott. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson is in trouble now - Knott has advanced to mount! Knott lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
It looks like Shane Johnson has been cut. Knott controlling his opponent. Knott thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Knott lands a heavy elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sean Knott dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Shane Johnson's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Horrible takedown by Knott or perhaps it was just good defense by Johnson which made him look bad. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Johnson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
