The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Young shoots in looking for a takedown but Silva manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Young's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Young really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

and Silva counters with a left to the body.
Young tries for a takedown but Silva sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Silva moves into range and clinches up with Young.
Young wants to break the clinch but can't.
Silva jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Young walks away with a smile on his face. Silva gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Silva feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Young's calf.
Young tries to close the distance and clinch but Silva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Phat Young seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Silva counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Young has control of Silva's left arm, preventing Silva from doing any damage.

Silva drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Young manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Silva has Young in his guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Phat Young.
Silva scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Young takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Young is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Silva defends it well.

I would just about give that final round to Rodrigo Silva.
