Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ej Tap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tap comes to the cage accompanied by Pop Lock and Drop It. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ej Tap! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jon James! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tap throws a jab but it's blocked by James. James misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts James, as that shot connected.
James's corner calls for a 1-2. James obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Tap shoots in looking for a takedown. James tries to sprawl out of it but Tap keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. James manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Nice uppercut lands for James. That snapped Tap's head back.
James loads up on a big right hand but Tap slips the punch. James falls off balance throwing a combination
and Tap makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Nice sprawl there from James as Tap shoots in. Tap misses with a wild body shot. James lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Tap misses the jab. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tap looks to score with a jab to the body but James is just out of range.

Tap uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from James. Jon James is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. James throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tap. James lands a lovely overhand right. James shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Tap eats them both and turns towards James to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Tap clobbers James with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. James misses with a body shot.

He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Tap looks to land a combination but James avoids it well. James has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Danga de danga de dang - James scores with a four punch combination! Tap is looking to wear down James with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Tap might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Tap drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. James uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tap.

Tap pushes James against the cage but James circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. James fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tap manages to avoid it. James ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tap moves away. Tap's jab looks to have found its range, popping James under the eye. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tap. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ej Tap. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tap looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Tap slips a jab and a cross from James.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Tap shoots in and bounces James off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! James trying to control the position here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tap loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. James pulls Tap in close to prevent any damage. Tap has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tap won't allow James to get back to his feet. Ej Tap has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jon James. James scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. James lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. No joy there for James, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

James slaps away a takedown attempt from Tap, before circling back to the center of the mat. A left and a right from James both land. Nice combination. Jon James is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. James throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Tap takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

James cracks Tap with an open hand slap. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tap tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but James was well out of range. Poor timing from Tap. James misses with a wild combination.

And that's the end of the fight! Jon James comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well James has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
