Smith has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Nick Sanchez enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanchez drives through and clinches with Smith against the cage.

Smith got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sanchez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smith has managed to get both his arms back between Sanchez's legs - danger averted.

Sanchez is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Smith doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sanchez.

Sanchez decides to stand up.
Smith really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Sanchez moves into the clinch.
Smith wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Sanchez decides to pull guard.

Smith avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Sanchez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sanchez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Smith is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Sanchez dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Oh but Sanchez is tightening it up a little... Smith has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Smith reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Smith taps out! nice BJJ there by Sanchez!
